Forums - Gaming - What if Bungie's new game really is a MMO?

So those who don't know where I'm coming from:

The ex-Bungie employee says that Destiny, codenamed "Tiger," will run on a new Bungie-developed graphics engine and feature unique online connectivity and matchmaking technology. It was also bluntly likened to "WoW in space."

Bungie creative director Joseph Staten hinted at last year's Game Developers Conference Online that the independent studio might be building an online persistent world. Bemoaning that Halo players spent mere hours in the developer's games, Staten wondered aloud "Wouldn't it be great if we could make a world that was always there for you?"

So if Bungie's new game really is a Sci Fi themed MMO, how will you react and how will if affect your purchase of it?

Obviously we haven't seen any gameplay or know shit about it, but let's assume that it's an FPS MMO Sci Fi themed. It has a lot of the good elements that makes Halo games so great as FPS games. But it's an MMO and it has an Monthly Subscription Fee. No way in hell with they make it Free to Play simply because of Activision.

So just imagine it in your head... Halo like MMO, monthly Fees, Bungie's talent, all applied to this one MMO.

Would you buy it? Would you buy it because you love Bungie? Would you buy if the Subscription fee was $15 per month? Or would buy it if it was $10 per month?

I would definitely get it if and only if it can offer an amount of content comparable to WoW.

It will be good because then I wont have to feel bad about missing out on a Bungie game. I was never going to get any of their Activision published games to begin with but if we add in to that 'MMO' then it becomes a lot easier to ignore.

If it's an MMO then my interest will drop to zero... I'm just not interested in MMOs...

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

I would definitely be skeptical about purchasing it.

It would really have to be amazing.

Generally people who say this have never played one, Or have yet to play a good one.   They're very fun games top to bottom.

Then I won't be getting it.

Probably Won't Be Playing it then, unfortunately .

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

If its like WOW on the 360 with sci-fi themes and a FPS then I will buy and play the SHIT out of that game.

Max I would pay per month if it was amazing would be $20 a month.

are halo fans really that blind and going to buy what ever bungie releasing post halo.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
