Strange.  Why did David Cameron back out of a French Proposal?

The French have been the biggest enablers of the Libyian regime.  You'd expect it to be the other way around.

I think the US and other countries should take protestor recruits for the new army forming in Benghazi and train them in other countries. Arm them with M-16's body armour and maybe a couple M1's and send them back. Don't invade Libya allow the Libyan people to build up their own army and liberate Libya themselves.

Yah except hopefully this time their will be democracy and friendliness with the West. Or how about when America freed Afghanistan that way.

I just think America should do something to stop Gaddafi. Rather then sit back and watch as thousands die in a bloody civil war.

I think he was refering to the "Bay of Pigs" invasion.  Where the CIA took a bunch of anti-castro people, trained them, equipped them... and then sent them back...

Yah but they were planning an invasion. Half of Libya is already against Gaddafi. All the US needs to do is train some of them and equip them with guns. Let them bring down the regime. This time I think it would be successful.

Though thanks to Russia, it seems there will be no Military invasion. 

Looks like the US is asking the UN for authorization to bomb parts of Libya.

Take that for what you will.

No fly zone and military action approved by the UN (except "boots on the ground"). No votes against, some abstentions.

Gaddafi actually threatened to target civilian airplanes and boats in the mediterranean! Wow... this guy is completely crazy. Surely threats like that help justify this action by the UN.

Hopefully any of his planes that take off with the intention of attacking Lybians or any civilian aircraft will be quickly shot down...

Wow, what a video - I think that was the op, I don't have much to say about Bahrain... the leader there is very religious but made accomidations for business and tourists to visit their horribly named but beutiful streets.

I've heard from friends most of the royals support comes from Saudi Arabia but I'm not sure how true that is... though it shows how far the Saudi's will go when they see no motivation from the west to enforce human rights at the least. Though I'm sure it's more complicated than that... in fact I know it is.

If I remember correctly placing a no fly zone on Libya is something that can be achieved by naval force, most if not then all of their air strips are on the coast line.
