| Metallicube said: Kinect sales are somewhat responsible for Xbox's surge during the holidays, but less than most people think. People forget the obvious fact that Xbox 360 ALWAYS rises during the holiday season, as do the other consoles. Plus, you've got Call of Duty: Black Ops, a new Halo game, and a much better value and better designed 360 model. So you have many people rebuying their consoles (I'm not too proud to say I'm one of those people, and I know a few others who did as well). Those are the main reasons for the 360's sales going up during the holidays. The Kinect 360 boost is VASTLY overstated. Are people really going out and spending $300 to place another Dance game and a Wii Sports knockoff? I highly doubt it.. |
According to Pachter/ect, the NPD January results stated that 60% of all Xbox 360's sold during the month in the US were with Kinects. Make of it what you will, but that is an insane number.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
