The Nintendo DS has been Australia's highest selling video game system since 2006 and still holds the title. Congrats to Nintendo.

OP - Congrats Wii for reach 2 million... and Congrats DS for overcome PS2... just AMAZING.

There are a mistake (or not) in this article. Maybe not.

The Wii is not the "the highest selling home console for 2010" Maybe is... it is "the fastest-selling console to 2 million".

The original article: http://au.gamespot.com/news/6299914.html

So far we have:

DS - 520k
Wii - 420k
PS3 - 429k 322k.

Or there a mistake in my maths... I will check. Checked... I made a mistake.

Edit 1 - I made a confusion... the GFK AU reported PS3 had "best hardware sales"... but I think that was revenue and not Units.

Edit 2 - PS3 hardware sales in 2010:

1100k (LT) - 318k (2009) - 460k (LT until 2008) =  322k

Wii also achieved a major milestones in 2010.

Good sales, but less than half != most!

Pretty impressive sales for a country whose population is only ~22 million. Does anybody know what sales are like in Canada?

and the ridiculous pricing.

Wii ranges fron $269-$349 depending on the day

PS3 160 - $499          PS3 320gb by itself $599 w/ GT5 $549 (I think the 599 is because they havent changed it yet though tbh)

Xbox360 4gb w/ Kinect - 398 <- dse website 250gb w/ kinect $499-$549 though I think $499 will be the standard

The 4gb or 250gb by themselves arent really sold commonly in australia anymore, they are discontinued in fact at dse, well they were 2 weeks ago but they are still on the site so who the hell knows, we might be getting em back in soon.
