So if I already have it preordered on Amazon, does it automatically bump me up to the $20 credit?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Can someone please explain how Amazon can do this?? There's no way that Amazon gets $20 (or more than $20 rather) from each $60 game. Same for when Walmart and other businesses sell ps3's or 360s for $299 with $100 gift card to their store. How is that possible? Is it a joint effort by the system company and the retailer or what? I wouldn't even think a business would get $50, though, from a $299 console sale. Been wondering this for a while, someone please save me from the confusion!

OT: crazy deal

And actually just realized they're having the same deal for Killzone 3. Wonder what the reason was for the change. Don't these deals usually happen earlier than 5 days before the game's release?

Amazon should give you the best deal from the date you pre-ordered. You need to check to make sure they give it to you though. Sometimes the credit is not automatically applied so you may need to email them.

I thinks it's simply an incentive to come back and shop with them.  Getting all these $20 credits keeps me going to amazon for all my game purchases even if there isn't a discount.  Their may be something else but I have no clue.

Fairly often for the last year or so.  Although lately they seem to be adding it really close to release.  LBP2, Killzone 3, and now Bulletstorm got it added with only around a week till release.  Here's hoping they keep it going with Infamous 2.
