Forums - Sales - UK PS3 Chartz: Uncharted takes top spot

@ Kasz216

So, he perfers the PS3 version because the PS3 players online don't use the same strategy beceause they haven't played UT3 as long.

It's the same difference. The only real difference is less accurate controls, less customizability and less expierence by the users.

AFAIK the mouse and keyboard support is just as accurate on the PS3, you can specify sensitivity. Sixaxis can be just as accurate, only with a mouse you'll be faster. Customization option should be very extensive for this game, one thing planned for the PS3 version is 'Home' Integration which may turn out to be interesting.

I know that UT3 is supposed to be in short supply for its launch, but the important question is, is it selling out? Being short on supply means nothing if it's still bigger than demand.

We will have to wait and see, at least the PS3 version's first week sales are over twice as much than for Windows which was available for a longer period of time.

Extensive. Still nowhere near CPU level. As for Keyboard and Mouse support. The fact that they arn't using the same PC strategies just shows the PS3 users are inexpierenced or not using the Keyboard. He basically perfers the PS3 version because the online players arn't used to the game as much. This should change with time.

I hope they disabled the hopping crap or made this optional, I prefer more intelligent and realistic gameplay, like taking cover behind something.

Intellegent? I'd call using the strategy that is most likely going to get you the win intellegent. Besides which... i wouldn't exactly call finding cover intellegent. The dumbest animals in nature know to do this when being attacked. As for realisitc. If you are looking for a realistic shooter. UT3 really isn't your game in the first place.

first off, part of me died a little in sadness at the mention of Age of Empires. I miss playing that game.

Anyway, I don't think there is anyway a Sixais (controller) can be just as good as a keyboard and mouse. One of the reasons is the same that it may take a while for people to develop their own styles of play. I say this because unless you change around the buttons, there is no way you're going to be able to bunny hop and be effective with a controller since you'll have to take your thumb off the analog stick to press the button. It's a little off topic, but a controller is why I think the Orange Box is broken on consoles, I feel that TF2 is almost totally ruined.

As for bunny hopping itself. My problem with it depends on the game. I don't have a problem when it's used to try and throw somebody off from shooting them and it's a game mechanic (take TFC for example and just try to hit a bunny hopping/rocket jumping person with a sniper, it's quite the challenge). However, in a game like Battlefield 2, there is actually a bug or something that makes it hard to get any hits on somebody who is bunny hopping and I guess you could call that person an exploiter or something. Saying that bunny hopping isn't inteligent (in a game like UT3) sounds like the kid in Counter-Strike calling everybody a noob even though he has the lowest score.

Number 1 PS3 but it didn't track in the top 10 overall?

hahahahah it went from Uncharted to UT3.......just bought UT3, so I'm playing it now...I want Uncharted, then maybe Assassin's Creed

Currently playing:

Unreal Tournament 3, Warhawk, Rock Band, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, DMC2, then 3, and Radiata Stories

Well I think UT3 on the PS3 is supposed to be running 20% Slower than the PC version, I actually like the downgrade XD it's a bit faster than Halo3, slower than Quake, it works out pretty well for the PS3 controller setup, so I'll take the preference to be not that the players don't hop around frantically (they still do) they're just much easier to hit while doing so, it's convinced me and my roomate to take a more cover friendly approach then just franticallly jumping up and down XD

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.
