Forums - Gaming - Rumour: XCOM undergoing “some big changes” post-announcement

CVG

Rumours are circulating that 2K's Xbox 360 console exclusive XCOM - which we haven't seen for seven months - has "undergone some big changes" since it was announced last year.

That's according to usually reliable industry leak-oholic Superannuation, which posted on Twitter this morning: "FWIW, there's a rumor that XCOM's undergone some big changes since it was announced."

The rumour arrives after XCOM dev 2K Marin's Australian studio head seemingly resigned last month.

2K has described XCom as "the re-imagining of one of gaming's most storied and beloved franchises," claiming that it "combines the strategic core of the groundbreaking franchise with a suspense-filled narrative and distills it into a tense and unique first-person shooter experience."

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

@Silver-Tiger

well if it's any consolation, some sites have it available to pre-order on PS3, although grant it there is no confirmed release day.

still, X-COM as an FPS? I'll need some convincing before I buy it...

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

They killed X-Com when they decided to make it an FPS.

I'd suggest name change first as it has completly nothing in common with X-com series and after that they are free to do whatever they want with it. I'm not touching it even with 10 feet long stick.

PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB

never heard of x-com before but if this fails it would be an huge blow for the australian games industry because they will most likely be axed for an candian studio.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
