Nitpicking, but it is a 33/40 which is a 8.25.

I hope we get RF: Oceans soon. Considering Europe only got Frontier last year, it could be quite a while

Whoa impresive score for Phantasy Star

exept that Activision didn't publish those games in Japan Square Enix did...
So there goes that theory

Bulletsorm > Killzone 3...hmm...its a japanese magazine so who cares ^^ (not meaning that Famitsu isnt a great magazine...its more like they dont play FPS that much over there and dont know better)

Yeah, that's what I said. I was just noting that 32/40 is the AA threshold (8/10) thus putting KZ3 into AA territory, which is where it sits on metacritic. So complaints about this specific score being too low are a little unfounded.
Same with criticising KZ3 score vs CoD MW2 (perhaps not so much Black Ops). CoD is like chocolate, everyone likes chocolate, and chocolate is great. Games like KZ3 are like olives, fewer people like olives but olives are still great, and to some olive lovers olives>chocolate. Hmmm, that made more sense in my head than it does written down.

or maybe fresh eyes not attached to a particular franchise is more objective and hence the review is more valid... Since they are both in the same genre etc it seems fair to both.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. A review, by whomever is still an opinion. The only difference is that it's a published opinion as opposed to yours or mine. They do not necessarily have to be objective. How can you be objective when evaluating videogames anyway?
To Famitsu's credit, they are one of the most revered publications in the industry and their highest scores (40/40) only go to the best of the best for they have only given out several in all of their time in publication.
BTW, quit nitpicking about Bulletstorm or Killzone 3 getting higher scores than each other. I am sure they are both great games. For Famitsu a 33 or 34 is a great score.
Bulletstorm got a surprisingly great review...nice to see DIsgaea got one too, can't wait for that to come out
