*MAKE SURE YOU DELETE EVERYTHING THATS ISNT SAVE FILES, I MEAN EVERYTHING. WILL TAKE TO LONG OTHERWISE.

both ps3`s need to be connected to tv to do it, goto transfer to ps3 setting and set one as "sender" then other as "reciver" after a few goes you will get hang of it.

what the heck is ethernet?

You don't know what is ethernet but you keep arguing about the processing and graphics power of the HD consoles? ROFL

This will be tougher than we thought.

Ethernet is simply a fancy term for the network cable. The same one that runs from your modem to your router to your computer to your Ps3 [if it's wired, which it is highly recommended to be]

@Cthulhu - You don't mean a disk image lol - you mean transfer your unlocked saves. You'll need to be Failoverflow or GeoHot for a drive image to work in a different PS3

The data transfer utility creates a file which can be anything you have in your drive  not only your saves..It works like an image..but yes its not an actual image...

connect your 2 ps3s using a internet cable (ethernet cable) and use the data transfer utility. google it.

google and  'tube works, but you can also just print the official instructions from the site lol

the reason to delete everything but saves is for time consideration - if you're not worried about time, don't worry to delete. check the site for snags you might encounter with trophies, LBP levels and Home stuff

and yeah - you'll have to match firmware versions

When have i ever done that?

USE THE DATA TRANSFER UTILITY FEATURE.

It's the only way you can recuperate everything on your old hard drive (Because some save files are locked and you can't copy them manually).

You will need an ethernet cable.

Here is a quick procedure video:

You should also follow these indications.

Well, its not. My PS3 has wireless connection. But my PC is wired with a gray cable to my modem, maybe that will work?
