Canada is viewed has a very open, peaceful, helpful and respectful place. Though, conservators are slowly  hurting the way other countries sees us.

US convenience, European liberty sort of feeling I'd say, and that's pretty much an impression gotten mostly from other Europeans plus some international news etc, since I've never been there. Don't think much of Europe considers Canada some little cousin of the US really, it's probably a lot more of a US view.

And cold. But that's a plus in my book too.

Canada gave us Celine Dion... we'll never forgive them for that... never!

I see Canada as the US, but in many ways more appealing

Could you name a few of those ways?

Higher HDI

A current accound defecit that isn't massive (unlike that of the U.K and US)

far far better foreign policy (I dislike US actions towards Chile, Iraq, Vietnam, Cuba etc)

Greater state ownership (Canadian National Railways)

Member of the commonwealth

Lower crime rate

Health Care free at point of delivery

Uses metric system

just a few IMO

Cold, Bryan Adams, Avril Lavigne, Ice Hockey, the place to go if you fucked up your life in your own country... It has the largest French population that did not surrender Germany...Just kidding;.

And oh yeah baby seals <_>..    That are the things I hear the most when they talk about Canada;.

America's "fruity" cousin.

Like America but full of French speaking people, for some reason that I've never bothered to look up.

Its very easy, immigration from France. Many french speaking person were also present in the US, like in Vermont. Nowadays those origin are mostly forgotten. But in Quebec and Ontario, since a lot of french speaking colonies were present,  the language still remain today.
