The first update is expected this month with some performance improvements and the obligatory Cut and Paste add on.

The update had been delayed, lol. Reminds me of something.

These early Nokia build concepts look alright to me. This already spells mass...market...appeal... to me.

I like the screen, not too hot on the back though.

Good move for both companies, not sure if I want to something incredibly good to come out of it though, a more powerful corporation is never essentially a good thing. As long as the products are good, I am satisfied.

ooooooh purrrdy looks like a may get a nokia once again...

These phones look like phones that would appeal to my sister, my mom, your cousin...everyone. And the beauty of WP7 is that is runs faster with just 1GHz than Andriod does on dual core. MS and nokia sould be able to sell these phones in many regions where price needs to be low and keep the user experience great...WP7 OS runs very well at minimum spec.
Great design, great price, good user experience...hence why I am saying mass market appeal.

Nokias are also known for one other thing, reliability. Im not talking about not randomly breaking down. Im talking about phones which can take a hellish beating so that the outside of the case is falling apart but the internal components always work properly. Nokia phones have always been legendary for this.

Tease.

Oh totally...thats the first thing my buddy said when I told him about this. Mind you he is not tech oriented at all and wouldn't know what Symbian, WP7, Android etc is...

To him Nokia = unbreakable phone.

Another great thing about Nokia is that they hold more pattents in the cellular realm than all companies combined. Kinda like MS in the PC world :)

Here's an interesting interview about the partnership:

Combined with this interview the Microsoft/Nokia partnership just got a whole lot more interesting to me. Mostly because of the way that Nokia and Microsoft aim to bring the price of WP7 phones down without sacrificing quality, which must mean that they have a solid long term plan on what's going to happen here.
