I agree.
But that terrible for Nokia... and kills my favorite mobile OS.

This thread is hilarious. Some people are SO emotionally invested in supporting a specific company they can't help but take umbridge to people who don't feel that way and have there own Pavlovian reaction to defend any news from them and paint nay sayers as being anti microsoft, both types are two sides of the same coin the wreckers and defenders with every one else in the middle. PS, i think it is a smart move by MS and they are now well positioned. |
Oh come on, did I praise this decision and hail the all mightly Microsoft? I didn't even give an opinion on the actual news itself. However when I hear something like "I love Nokia phones. Now they've partnered with Microsoft they suck and I won't buy their phones anymore." then it's clearly a case of being anti-Microsoft and not because of any reasonable opinion the what this partnership can actually mean.
For the record though I think it'll be good for both companies. For what it's worth I have an iPhone although I've been unhappy with it since the move to OS4, it's been very slow.
These early Nokia build concepts look alright to me. This already spells mass...market...appeal... to me.

I just not buying more Nokia phone because I like Symbian... that's nothing to do with Microsoft.
After Symbian the only other OS intersting for me is iOS... so I will buy an iPhone in future.
I hope Nokia support the N8 (Symbia^3) more 2 years with good updates.

I like the screen, not too hot on the back though.
Good move for both companies, not sure if I want to something incredibly good to come out of it though, a more powerful corporation is never essentially a good thing. As long as the products are good, I am satisfied.

My phone is a brick! And I wouldn't have it any other way. Baby got back! |
Not the junk, the dodgy angles/lines thing that it has going, should have just gone for the traditional BRICK. I have Xperia X8, so can't really say that I dislike some junk in the trunk :p And oh my, that means I have a Sony prduct.

Whoa! Sony? Expensive junk! lol Note: I mean junk as in... phat. |
I wouldn't go as far as to say that looks phat :p, maybe 'tis the prototype designs and the final will have improvements, that just looks like a generic smartphone tbh, but then again there is barely any room left for expansion or innovation in this day and age. If I were to buy anything, I am ashamed to admit that I'd buy an iPhone, I just wouldn't be stupid enough to upgrade every time Steve Jobs shouts "GO MY DARLINGS!GO AND BUY THE NEW APPLE PRODUCT". And my little Xperia is cheap, I think I am still even on the frigging contract for it, which is a shame really as I can't wait to upgrade, it's been bugging me with constant freezing and slow loading..

What is your experience with WM7? What is it that you don't like about it? In what ways is Symbian superior?

Its Facebooks, Googles, Apples people need to worry about when it comes to controling user behaviour. |
I was referring to all the big companies. Microsoft is no different from Apple, Sony, GM, Origin and so on and so forth. It was a joke anyway, I thought that would have been obvious from the craziness of it all and freemasons.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
I notice everyone talking Android and IOS. But nobody is remembering BlackBerry they haven't gone Android to my knowledge. I'm sure they are doing better then Windows Phone 7 though I gotta admit their market share is shot to shit. I think Windows Phone 7 (Nokia) will have to take out Research In Motion first if they plan on challenging Android and IOS.
Honestly I am cheering for Research in Motion, go BlackBerry!
