High school was easy, I actually flat out told teachers I wasn't going to do a lot of my homework because I already knew what was going on and they surprisingly accepted that (it was a podunk high school where if you could walk and chew gum you were ahead of the curve).
In college, it was quite a change because I went from never having to study or doing homework to actually having to try, study, and do homework. I failed most of my classes my first year and ended up having to do five years (5th year - victory lap). Add on to that after about my sophomore year I stopped caring about my major and didn't know what I wanted to do. My advisor was no help so I just trudged on. I didn't care about my majors so I didn't really try. So, stupid low GPA in undergrad. I only really ever did just enough to pass.
In grad school, I somehow got in and actually cared about what I was doing, actually tried and worked hard, and had a good GPA.
3.87, though that's been helped tremendously by Japanese Language courses that weigh twice as much on your GPA

(yes, i actually read the OP)
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

How can you convert the Romanian version to whatever version you people are using?

It fluctuates depending on how much I actually show up for class. Last semester was a 4.0, but the semester before that was a dismal 1.72. I wasn't doing very well mentally at the time, so I just didn't give a crap.
I think my average throughout all of college is around a 3.2.
In high school my average was like a 4.5, because they weighted honors classes more heavily than regular classes. A typical honors class could net you as high as a 5.0, and an AP class went all the way up to 6.0.

I thought 4.0 was the max? Your grading system is so weird and confusing.
