Forums - Sony - PS3 Bundle Question !?!

So...like we all read there are rumors but more like clarification that KZ3 & MotorStorm Apocalyptica getting a bundle...the both 320GB + game for 349...like always (LBP2,GT5,Move Starter etc.) !

So my question isnt "why Motorstorm & Killzone and not other games" my question is "why 320GB for 349?"

Wouldnt it be much better and it wouldnt it sell soo much more if they take the normal 160GB version + the game for 279 - 299 ?

They should do a test-bundle...like Infamous 2 with the 320 & 160 version and than see what sold more...and i would bet my ass off that the cheaper 160 version would outsell the 320 2:1 or more like 1000:1 cause nobody would pick the pricier option IMO...

Around the Network

But that would be a good idea, and thats not been sony's strategy this gen

Time for hype

Yea, it makes sense to all of us, but I think Sony is trying to push the 320 gb with a game because they probably make more profit even after the game is included with it than they would with a 160.

This is the correct answer. Margins on the 160, while in the black per Sony, probably aren't anything near an oil well. Including a game for the same price may be tight enough on the margin to remove the profit altogether. Whereas, the extra $50 for a bigger drive (that costs nowhere near $50 more to make) has much more room for fudging things in to add value. Besides, if someone was interested in a system for KZ3, the $350 is still a better option for them than a $300 system and a $60 game, let alone the bigger drive.

That's why I purchased my 250 GB at gamestop instead of the 120 GB.  I highly doubt I'll ever use the 250 GB, and knew that when purchasing it, but it was only $50 more than the 120 GB at the time and included LBP: GOTY Edition and Infamous, which was a $60 value for 2 games that I thought I'd like.
