The first one was Wii exclusive, right? The poor little fellow really is doomed.

You would have had a joke there, but it is coming on all platforms.

Sure, but while the PS3 was getting FFXIII, RE5, etc., the loss of exclusivity was still a death blow. Now it's the Wii that is hemorrhaging exclusives, including:

Heavy Fire

de Blob

And many, many more!

Ah, yes, that is true.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I really do think Sony need to revise their marketing strategy.

There have been some successful ones, like Heavy Rain, but they seem to struggle overall hitting mainstream appeal.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Why would they stop making the Kevin Butler ads?

They were enjoyable to watch and people loved them.

I don't know how one can say they weren't successful.

Oh I thought you guys were talking about the game related ads.

Because yeah it's true that the Move ads were sometimes distasteful.

But the Gran Turismo 5 one or the Uncharted 2 ones were great.

I am hardly a Sony partisan, and I think Kevin Butler is awesome.  I really enjoy most of his ads.  The ones I found less enjoyable are the original Best Buy BOOM ad, and also the extended pew, pew, pew Move promo spot.  He loses something when pandering to the base, either by silly celebration or taking shots at other controllers.  He works best when he is in an awkward situation with people.

As far as Heavy Fire goes, the original subject, even money says that it is a rail shooter.  For all platforms, including the Wii?  That is strong indication of a rail shooter.  On Kinect, that would be fresh though, due to the lack of rail shooters on the 360.

Why would the success or failure of a game be attributed to a marketing strategy?  It is possible Heavy Rain was unique enough, and caught enough of a buzz on the Internet, it did good sales.

oh god this Kevin Butler discussion is really hilarious...how people are so offended because in 30 ads he dissed Nintendo/Microsoft for one time...and after that everything that has to do with Kevin Butler is "bad" and a "flop" and "fanboys love him"...just stupid...i think everybody just with a little sense of humor enjoyed his ads (except the Move ad just because he made fun of the competitors) and if not then it isnt Kevin Butlers or Sonys fault...more the fault of "Anti-Sony-fans" and/or people with no humor..
