For all intents and purposes 360 is nearing death in continental Europe. Nothing that MS has done has had any sort of major long-term affect on sales in that region. 360 was basically firing on all cylinders last year and going absolute gangbusters in the UK, but for the entirety of Europe it only topped PS3 5 times, and 3 of those times it was basically a tie.

I mean the fact that it's pulling numbers in Americas comparable to the Wii back in 2008 and still basically only tying the competition should show how sad the situation has gotten for the 360 in EMEAA.

Based on what? In this week EMEAA sales PS3 was 34K higher than XBOX and 24K higher than wii, of those, 20K were gained in middle-east/asia/africa alone. And let's not forget that PS3 had LBP2 last week while xbox and wii didn't have any game. XBOX in UK was 5K higher than PS3 so "360 is nearing death in continental Europe" because it selles 15K less on the week after some major release.  If that's the case PS3 passed away in America and UK long ago.

um what major release should have benefitted 360 apart from kinect.... just asking...

Dead space is also on ps3 and as Sony is the stronger brand in Europe that would have been favoured. I really don't know why people think multi plats bar COD should push sooo many consoles. It just doesnt make any sense why it would.

Slim, Reach, Kinect, new bundles (Forza/Alan Wake). It's not the fact that it's pulling bad numbers ATM, just that it's pulling below average numbers after all of that. As I pointed out above Kinect has propelled 360 to Wii 2008-like numbers in Americas. It's probably having a bigger impact than a $100 price cut would have had. Whereas in EU it hasn't really had any impact. Look at past history, when a console is nearing the end of its life-cycle almost nothing has any long term impact. When both PS2 an Gamecube went to $99 there was a brief surge in sales and then they dropped off back to previous levels and continued to fall. The exact same thing happened with DS last year after its price cut.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Forza 3 wasnt a recent release

Reach came after Halo 3 and ODST and Wars and in the second half where it appears 360 outsold PS3 -> see slim and Kinect, even though I said besides Kinect... Alan Wake was never going to be a system seller, you are pulling at strings there mate

Okay EMEAA is still pulling decent numbers for Kinect and 360 numbers from the looks of it are more or less stable. Yes they aren't PS3's but stable. I doubt they will go down and when the voice for Kinect comes in Europe I am sure they will get a surge as well. That is not even a selling point away from England, the US and a few select countries, Australia is not one annoyingly.

Kinect bundle is bloody expensive and as far as I know that is the best selling bundle, at least where I work (in australia) yes its not the world but it is the best I can go off.

Not really, more shows the utter disregard from Japan. if it was getting a fair crack of the whip there then the situation would be very different.  To focus on EMEAA as the issue is to ignore the very large, noisy and pink elephant in the room.

The 360 is only selling in two of the three markets we monitor... no other console gets such a reception in any other market.  All consoles perform to a lesser or greater degree in the maion markets, whereas the 360 is utterly ignore and irrelevant in Japan.

The 360 is doing amazingly considering this.  Has a console ever performed so well with this kind of limitation? No.

That and unlike Sony and its systems which seems to be an octopus MS seems to target a few specific markets.

People always forget that Kinect is only partially functional in Europe right now.  There is no voice control outside of the UK.  I would expect that when voice launches in mainland Europe in the spring that MS will ramp up the marketing there and hopeful create a big uptick in sales.

I think that the rest of Europe will slowly catch up as far as the 360 goes.  It will take a few months for it to trend up, as far as Japan- it is probably a lost cause.  That's my prediction.
