Anyone still remember playing the Jagged Alliance series? Guess what it's back! Set for an autumn 2011 release in North America, Kalypso Media and bitComposer Games today are pleased to announce a global distribution and marketing partnership for Jagged Alliance: Back in Action for Windows PC. As part of the agreement, Kalypso Media will publish the game in North America, Asia and English-speaking export countries as well as through its extensive digital distribution channels. bitComposer Games will publish the game in all other European countries, including Russia and Poland.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action revives the top-selling Jagged Alliance series of mercenary-themed strategy games with significant updates to visuals and gameplay. Back in Action will showcase a fully updated experience, with modernized gameplay, state-of-the-art graphics and premium production values.

"With Kalypso we have an outstanding publishing partner with extensive experience and direct marketing opportunities, particularly in the digital space and in English-speaking territories," said Wolfgang Duhr, Managing Director of bitComposer Games. "We are very confident, that with such a capable partner, we can fulfill the high expectations associated with the revival of the Jagged Alliance brand."

No, it won't be real TBS anymore, but "RTS gameplay with turn-based elements".

My prediction: Only shortly after the release of the Dungeon Keeper clone Dungeons, JA: Back in action will be another failed attempt by a German developer in cooperation with publisher Kalypso Media to revive a classic PC franchise.



Been recently looking for some Squad-based tactics-games. Too bad we need to wait until Autumn for this game. :/

Hopefully it won't flop, pretty much every SBT-game I've been waiting has turned out to be a big pile of poo.
