Somehow this thread made me despise a lot of people...whining about a high of 13° F...psh...I think our low this year was -29° F and our lowest high for the day was like -5° F (It didn't get above 0° F for like 3 days).
Since nobody has done it, here's a little conversion help for those who aren't familiar:
| °F | °C |
| 32 | 0 |
| 20 | -6.67 |
| 10 | -12.22 |
| 0 | -17.78 |
| -10 | -23.33 |
| -20 | -28.89 |
| -30 | -34.44 |

It does cause however an average rise in global temperature which can be measured. As well as an increase in extreme weather events, which can also be measured.
Therefore against what you are implying, it is testable.

Yes, the rise in global temperatures can be measured...but could you provide me with the definite proof that higher average temperatures lead to extreme weather events? Causation does not equal correlation, so you have to be really careful saying 1 thing is leading to another in studies.

Climate models predict more extreme weather events and the number of these events can be measured. That's all I was saying.

LOL! "the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic where the climate remains tolerable."
That's at least as bad as "Global warming is a scam".

Well, I don't have the highest faith in climate models, lol. Short term models, such as GFS, Euro, and CMC that predict weather for only 2 weeks are horrid near the end of their model runs, so I have a LOT of trouble trusting models that try to predict years ahead, when something drastic could change with the sun for instance, and we could go into a deep ice age 10 years from now...nobody knows.

Long term predictions and short term predictions are completely different things. Short term predicts specific events whereas long term predicts trends and probabilities of events.

Climate =/= weather
And obviously the models are void if an asteroid hits, that's not the point.

Yes, I know that, but what I'm saying is we have a massive lack of evidence to make long term climate predictions. What is the sun going to be doing in 20 years? We have no clue, yet the Sun, for all we know, may have massive impacts on our weather. What volcanoes (and how many volcanoes) are going to blow up in the next 20 years? We have absolutely no clue, yet volcanoes can massively impact our climate system.
I'm well aware that long term models are trying to predict trends and probabilities of events, but there are some absolutely MASSIVE players in our climate that aren't in these models at all.
