As for EA, er, it's very hard to really make sense of their results nowadays. They're just far too big of a company with so many different things, sounds like they're heading to profitability though which is good. They've got a long way to go to appease shareholders though. |
My only added thought to your Madden/Fifa comment is this: I think that the overall base/amount of users of video games has really expanded. I guess the time i was referring to way back when , the were so many people playing on a PC and the console market was much smaller. Today, the console market is incredibly large and the average person is much more interested in actually playing games. This has allowed for games such as Fifa to really expand - Especially in Europe where the sport has real meaning to the masses. Again, "back in the day" when Madden launched, there were big lines and big parties to go with it. Sure the numbers for both of these games are great, but atleast for Madden they used to be much bigger culturally.
