Don't get SOA on the Dreamcast, get the superior Gamecube version. What are you people on even suggesting it???

Hell no... stupid pussified gamecube version.. the Dreamcast version was way less censored in the text and game.. In the dreamcast version people smoked and drank alcohol and Aika could be raped in the dreamcast version but wasn't in the Gamecube version.. all references where gone.. also some characters had way more clothes on in the gamecube version.. and the VMU support, Pinta's quest.. > 24 extra legends, piastol

The American Dreamcast version was slightly censored to remove references to smoking and alcohol, cleaned up some dialogue (to make it look less like Aika was going to get raped when being captured by Vigaro), and slightly cleaned up one scantily clad character.

Chu Chu Rocket is good stuff, really hectic multiplayer.

Edit: By the way, great video in your sig makingmusic.

Sonic Adventure 2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is awesome too, but it's cheaper and easier to find on PSN or XBLA.

You're now a cool person, congratulations! I've been a cool person since September 2000. xD

Let's see... I have 13 games for the Dreamcast:

Resident Evil: CODE Veronica, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, Dead or Alive 2, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure, Space Channel 5, Rippin' Riders (Snow Surfers here in Europe, a passable snowboarding game), Soul Calibur, Metropolis Street Racer, Headhunter and Phantasy Star Online.

Of these I recommend you buy:

Resident Evil: CODE Veronica --- my favourite Resident Evil of all time;

Skies of Arcadia --- it's such an incredible JRPG, indeed at the level of past Final Fantasies. My only complaint is that it takes too long to get into and out of a battle, due to loading. I'm an impatient guy, so this grinds on me. But it is a great experience;

Grandia II --- the plot, the voice acting and the characters aren't as good as in Skies of Arcadia, but the battle system is pure bliss.

Shenmue --- An experience in itself. Unique and fondly remembered.

Jet Set Radio --- one of the epitomes of SEGA's creativity. I miss those days...

Space Channel 5 --- quirky, silly and crazy! And fun.

Metropolis Street Racer --- just an incredible racing game, I always prefered it over Gran Turismo and I am a Sony fan as well.

Soul Calibur --- the first and the best.

At the time, I also loved Sonic Adventure, Dead or Alive 2 and Phantasy Star Online, but the first is a bit annoying to me nowadays, the second has sequels and the third is half a game without the online. Rippin' Riders and Headhunter I care less about.

Skies of Arcadia was such a great game, its blasphemy to suggest getting it on any other console!

Code Veronica was also great, and agree that the Powerstone games were really good too.  I mentioned in another Dreamcast thread that Re-Volt was a damn fine RC racer, but that may have been released on other platforms, I don't know for sure.

Ahhh, this thread is making me want to break out my dreamcast and see how Skies looks on an HDTV!

Shenmue I and II, my friend. You can find Shenmue 2 subtitled in english with japanese voice (much better version than the xbox one, IMO).

Also, you got to play:

- Skies of Arcadia; Grandia II; Resident Evil: Code Veronica; Marvel Vs. Capcom 2; Sonic Adventure 2; Power Stone 2; Headhunter; Soul Calibur; Phantasy Star Online...

There are so many games on Dreamcast, but those are amazing!

IT'S TIME FOR SHENMUE III, SEGA!

Was Shenmue 2 released on Dreamcast with english subtitles??I didn't even know that!Now I have to buy it...

Hm, I'll probably grab Skies of Arcadia too.  Too bad SHenmue II never made it to the States.  =(

Thanks to the tecommendations for games, guys, but what about a/v cables?

I wouldn't suggest to get Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast quite frankly. I see that you own a GC ( a Wii will do of course) so you should get Skies of Arcadia Legends if you really want the game. The Gamecube version is said to be superior in many ways.

I always thought Legends was part sequel, part spin-off.  Didn't realize it was a port.  0_o

I kinda want it for Dreamcast anyway, though.  But I'm a collector who likes having originals (which is why I'm also thinking of rebuying Crazy Taxi lol).  Skies on Dreamcast just feels more right.  Plus, I finally own a Sega console, so I might as well stock up on all the first party goodness I've missed.

Also, random question, but the Dreamcast doesn't happen to play Sega CD games, does it?
