I own the first one and I havent pled it yet. I was just wondering if whether or not the sequel continues the story of the first one or if it is a brand new story. I will be going on a roadtrip so i was thinking about playing valkyria chronicles 2 first.

VC2 is more of a spinoff than a sequel so you don't really have to play the first game beforehand if you don't want to. It has some references to the first game, but there is a different cast of characters, different setting, etc.

With that being said, I think the original is a much better game.

okay thanks. i will be definately be playing the first after i finish bata aa, demons souls, etc. Bit for my roadtrip i think im gonna play VC2 first if it really does not have much to do with the original. thanks again.

it's the same setting, same country, but whole new set of characters...second one is in a military school. But characters from the first one will make a cameo :) but yeah not much of a connection I would say

btw I disagree with above, I think this one was the better game....but I get some people won't like the place the story takes place tho..and be wary of the laughter of Avan...yeah you been warned ;)
