Layton games are great, if you like puzzles and dont mind thinking a little bit, then it is a great game... The story behind the games are always great, I would recomend this game to anybody...

If I could agree more then 100%, I would.

Wait, this is the internet!

101%. Teehee.

very nice i love good stories and puzles are fine.

It all depends on how much one likes puzzles. Because a Layton game is actually just about 150 independent puzzles. Between these puzzles are story cutscenes and walking around, but there is no challenge to it, so in the end it's really all about solving great puzzles.

Personally, I just love the Layton games. Together with the Ace Attorney series they are my favourite NDS games. Which by the way is why "Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney" will be the best game ever!

They are good, great for playing together with your girlfriend too (my girlfriend normally isn't interested in video games, but these she likes). Like ArnoldRimmer said, the puzzles aren't really integrated into the story though. Most of the time you just talk to people standing around, and they go "Blah blah unrelated blabber blah. Btw, I've got a puzzle for you!"

Regarding the story, we thought that the first one had the best story so far, the second one is still good, but slightly less believable, and the third game's story is completely ridiculous. The events keep becoming more megalomaniac and cheesy, which is a trend they hopefully revert with the upcoming games.

I always start the Layton games with a lot of love;..But after puzzle 50* it starts to get boring for me;..Never played a Layton game for its story...

well okay thats alot more puzzles than i was thinking lol. but ill probably still pick it up it sounds interesting.

Go and watch part of a let's play for a later game. That will give you a great idea of the gameplay.

They're great if you like puzzles and detective stories. They're very fun and charming. Go and buy them!!!
