Forums - Sony - Is NGP too big?

The size of the NGP doesn't seem to big to me.  My only concern is whether or not it's comfortable to hold in my hands while I play it.  I know that the DSi, for some odd reason, hurt my hands if I played it for 5 minutes or longer.

It is kind of an odd size. Too big to carry in the pocket but too small to read books or browse web pages.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

besides just the actual size being a big concern for travel, talking about pockets here not throwing in a bag or some carry along ngp case

BUT also abou the 2 analog sticks.  how are they going to handle ebing in pockets?  is it going to make it worse to carry in pockets, are the analogs going to get ruined, dirty, not work, break, get stuck in a position not centered, ect.

Not to mention the screen, the same downside of most all new phones and the psp.  the ds' are nice cause they have a flip down to protect all teh buttons and screen from damage adn dirt and scratches

Thats the only thing i disagree about. I read books easily on my iPhone 3GS, I think the screen size is just about perfect for reading, especially with the oled and resolution.

Maybe for text only books, but anything with diagrams and photos the small screens don't work so well. I think most people would prefer the larger size of a tablet for reading if they had the choice.

Well yeah, but lets be honest when someone "reads a book" the connotation doesnt have diagrams or photos so thats what i responded too.

I've used homebrew for reading pdfs and text on my psp and it works fine. Ofcourse not as fine as a tablet could provide(not owning one). But it works.

iPad is way too big,and is that a problem? No.

this. tablets are popular now and sony was smart to go in this direction its no fun watching videos or web browsing on a cramped screen.

ipad is different than this or ds.  ipad is basically a laptop.  you carry it around in a laptop bag as well or a bag like you would a laptop.  i don't want to have to carry around a bag for the ds or psp.  if i'm carrying around a bag i might as well just bring my MUCH MUCH more powerful laptop and just play games on that.

I don't think it's too big for a primarily games dedicated handheld console. The big clear screen and dual analog sticks will allow Sony to better distinguish its product from smartphones and Nintendo's 3DS.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

no, it's thin but has huge screen. It's really beautiful.
