What a lame list, no offence

Why, that was just meant as a compliment?

I know the existence of the games in the list, but never played them. My list look at least entirely different than Gamasutra's, or to say... we differ entirely from taste. IMO, my taste is much better

For me that's

5- Naughty Dog - Uncharted

4- Bethesda - Oblivion Game of the year edition

3- Capcom - Zack & Wiki for instance

2- Level 5 (Layton 1 + 2)

1- Nintendo (Mario Galaxy, Zelda Phantom Hourglass!!!)

Honestly people, despite the almost-certainly-intentional omission of Nintendo, this list is quite good. Who do you feel is receiving this award totally unfairly? All of those choices are good, and as much I am enamored with the bizzarre and vague use of the term "grit," in this context, I can understand that this is a hardcore gamer's list.

It's really rather reasonable.

Fine, but that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything, they have an opinion, so have we

My opinion is: I agree with you!

How did Halo 3 "push the envelope"? What, exactly, did it do that hadn't already been done? Same with Rock Band. I guess popularizing old tech is enough to grant you awards these days...

And frankly, though I haven't played the Orange Box - not my type of games, though I'm sure they are excelent - I can't see Portal, or any of the sequels, change anything decisive from an industry viewpoint, which seems to be what they were looking for in these other games.

Well, those are my complaints, anyway.
