I've read, I don't remember on what video game site anymore, that Nintendo cut back Wii supply to Japan and the US to get units to Europe for the PS3 launch.  Last week Wii sales did see a spike in Britain and presumably the rest of Europe.  That doesn't explain all of the drop in Japan, but I've thought and still think Nintendo is holding units back for a SPM blowout week.

Those figures don't seem right to me.

Baseball Pro launched last week - with 40k sales. 50k sales this week? Huh?

I know some big PSP titles launch this week, but their sales should be stronger. The hardware figures for the PSP almost certainly (?) should be boosted as well? The PSP isn't sold out in Japan is it?

BTW - when are the US March figures due out? Wasn't it today? Or was it early next week? 

No...NPD comes out April 19 since "March" goes upto April 5.

Not suprising #s at all outside of Gundam selling much lower than it should. Same for Naturo - only 10k above what 1st day was. MC charts are showing Sony domination (6/10 Sony titles in top 10) Big suprise: Yoshi holding VERY well. I'm gonna go ahead and post next week's game up tonight, so we get an entire week of fun :)

Does anyone have the Hardware numbers yet?

Sony should be happy. The PSP is doing great, its been outselling the DS in software as of late. Its off by 1/4 hardware of what the DS is making but does it matter if the PSP doesnt catch up? If its making money for Sony thats all that should matter. The only thing they need to worry about is the PS3. Which will do better by the end of this year.

This doesn't mean anything. Most of the games are still first week releases - and die off pretty quickly after that. The exception has been MH2 (genuine smash hit). If anything, that PS2/PSP first-week figures (if correct) are *very* low and disapointing.

When is "Golden Week"? Could everyone be gearing up for that?

Golden Week has bigger than normal sales...but it does not compare to late Nov-early Jan in Japan..

I would say it is like...1.5x a week of strong/good (but not huge) releases.

 I think PSP is still losing in total software sales on a weekly basis, they just manage to have one or two titiles in the top ten
