Gosh, just in the year that I'm gonna get a PSP in :P
Well, I hope it makes the first one dirt cheap!

They really need to make it reasonable though. If the 3DS is gonna be £229 in the UK then they need to try and undercut this if they can. If it is more expensive then they will lose again....but bring it in at £199 or even less and they have a chance.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)
The PSP2 has by now overtaken the 3DS as my immediate interest. I wonder how the 3G will go with it, I actually have a second SIM card solely for that from my phone company because I figured I wouldn't be able to use the volume I have with my regular phone, so I've been using it on my netbook.
Actually hoping it's not contract based on some provider, cause that would mean waiting for the jailbreak, and if the features as they stand now come at a reasonably price, I'd actually buy one when it's out.
Hmm maybe if it supports 3G we could see it selling for less at start with monthly data plans like cellphones. That would do a lot to reduce entry price.
And personally I'd rather pay 300euro for PSP2 than 275 for 3DS.
But as always it all comes down to games - whoever gets Sega, Atlus, S-E support wins ;)

Maybe it'll be $299, I don't see Sony taking the same large margins on their handhelds that both Apple and Nintendo take. Had either one of the other two major handheld makers made it I would assume it'd be $399 but given it is Sony it may very well come with relatively tight margins especially since they are at a feature disadvantage or mindshare disadvantage against the other two.
Tease.
It sounds promising.
But Dammit. 3G data is expensive enough in Australia as it is.
If this doubles as a mobile phone as they claim hopefully it will not be forced onto ONE NETWORK CARRIER as I do not intend to get another plan or change carriers.

Wrong, wrong, they need stuff to make their product unique and the back trackpad is definitely one. So something like: - OLED touchscreen - Back trackpad - Dual analogs - Mic - Motion sensitive Equals ownage as far as controlling methods go. |
Agreed, I think having both will lead to some interesting control schemes, which will also help it differentiate from other handhelds AND consoles

Sony executive won't be standing next to you with a pistol aiming gun at your head forcing you to put 3G sim card inside.
Just because it has 3G it doesn't mean you must use it.

Not exactly, OLED screens have become very cheap in small scale. The reasons for an expensive price tag is overa.ll hardware, OLED would be far and away the reason. OLED screens are getting dirt cheap for 5" screens.

well i would love to use it. But ideally it would be great if they come up with some sort of agreement for free PSP2 traffic.
