Solid choice by Nolan because Hathaway can act. I'm sure she'll be just fine as Catwoman.

That is gonna be a weird role for her. She did pretty well in Get Smart as a sort of Action/Spy movie so maybe she can pull it off.
This will be interesting though I have never been a big fan of Anne.

A pretty meh choice. I think Charlize Theron would've been a better choice. She has the whole Catwoman look. Anne would've made an interesting Harley Quinn, but I guess Nolan went the more predicatable route.

Charlize Theron only has the "Catwoman look" if you entirely base your Catwoman look on Batman Returns. Anne Hathaway looks far more like the classic Catwoman than Theron, though she should be more voluptuous to really portray the look.
I really, REALLY hope they base her costume off the Jim Lee redesign. So hot and so awesome.

I think it is a reasonable choice, and after the movie is made it will probably be seen as brilliant or terrible ...
While I have found the new batman movies somewhat uneven, the direction of them has been somewhat grittier and more 'realistic'; and whether Ann Hathaway works or not will really depend on what direction they plan to take the catwoman character in. Selina Kyle was a kind of bookish character in Tim Burton's Batman Returns, and if that is maintained in the new Batman movie Ann Hathaway is very well suited to that; if it follows Frank Miller's interpretation I'm not sure if Ann Hathaway is a good choice though ...

This. If they could portray her as somewhat reserved/naive in her real life, though that would clash with pretty much every character they've portrayed thus far in this continuity, everyone's been varying degrees of jaded, experienced, or just downright cruel
