Forums - Sony - Well I finally got to play my Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 title and....

(I've had Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 laying around  in my house and I finally decided to play it. I've had a boat load of titles I purchased in 2010 that took precedence over it. I beat Castlevania and Vanquish recently so here we go. Most of my responses about Ninja Gaiden 2 have been from playing 25% of the 360 version and then returning it once I heard the PS3 version was coming out. )

.....welp....my suspisions were confirmed. The Microsoft only following were screwed over by Tecmo (again) but this time it was done ten fold. I've only played an hour of the game and partially 360 version and I must say the 360 version cannot hold up. Why do I say this? Easily, because of the fact that they flesh out the story for you as to why Ryu Hayabusa fights. When the game installs, it shows you a comic describing the events leading up to the new game. The 360 version doesn't make sense at all. It's like playing Bayonetta and just getting great game play with a nonsensical storyline. With the PS3 version (so far) This isn't the case.  I will have more updates as I progress further. Consider this an on going review.

Well there was probably a years difference between those two versions, it'd be like if Mass Effect 2 on PS3 was the exact port of the X360 version, no DLC, no comic, nothing. If that was the case the sales of the port would be extremely port, so it makes commercial sense to implement something into the game package that was not available in the earlier version.

The 360/PC versions of Mass Effect 2 got everything the PS3 version has save for the comic. Ninja Gaiden sigma 2 is just wow different. LOL

Yeah but what I meant if Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma came out with exactly the same content that it currently has on X360, would it sell? Although I agree those things that you mentioned in the OP could have been released as DLC for 360, the support just wasn't there probably, did this game even sell any good? And yeah I played the X360 version, up to the point where it go ridiculously fucking hard and I had to beat my controller with a pillow.

*Rather, if the game came out in similar fashion that it did on X360, so a direct port of the game as it was initially distributed.

The PS3 version would've had exclusive content because Tecmo needs the Japanese market. Thats another reason aside from Sony's wishes for more content as to why Tecmo had to add more to the game. It's a sad truth, but I believe thats the reason. Lastly, there is no more Itagaki (with Tecmo), so I believe they will focus on the PS3 to keep it in the good graces of the Japanese audience as well as the west. After this screw job there is no way Microsoft is going to purchase timed-exclusivity of the NG series. They basically funded the production of the definitive version which Sony never paid a dime to gain. I predict DOA and NG will release side by side with 360 releases from now on.
