Forums - Sony - My PS3 controller...

Has anyone else had this problem. My PS3 controller just stopped working mid movie. I was watching a BluRay and the controller was on I went to pause the movie and noticed the controller was off. I pressed the PS button but nothing happened I tried again and same deal. The PS3 controller just died on me. I plugged it into the PS3 to charge but the controller won't charge it is dead.

Now a friend said I must have over used it and killed the battery but I never use my PS3. I use my PS3 probubly twice to three times a week to watch BluRay's.

Has anyone elses PS3 controllers just died for no apparent reason?

On the XMB, go:

Settings > Power-Save Settings > Controller Auto-Off Settings

If that is off, then I guess your controller is probably dead.

you can use a keyboard to get to what ^ said

Well I just took the USB cord out of the lower port and put it in the upper one and connected the controller. Now the lights went on and it is charging, hurray. But that means my lower USB port is fried I guess damn that sucks. I'm not sure what worse a fried 60$ controller or a fried USB slot?

What did I do wrong? It used to charge through the lower port.
