Killzone 2 and 3 both use dedicated servers.  Killzone 3 has removed a server browser options Killzone 2 had though.

No, shitty programing is the reason for that.  Especially when it is copy and pasted between games so old hacks work on the next installment.


I pray for no cheating in KZ3. I actually enjoy that online.

But, it's much easier to ban people on dedicated servers, so hacking usually isn't so widespread.  Thus, people will blame peer-to-peer systems for their hacker problems even if it's unwarranted.

Hell, in MGO1, or just about any PC game with dedicated server browser lists, the host can kick any cheater out there. It makes things so easy. Especially if you can find a room with a good bunch of regulars.

If I remember well no, it's still in the game, but optional, they said they found a better way to find a party.

I remember reading that they removed it completely in favor of a (new?) party system in matchmaking.

Edit: Actually, wait...a poster on some website said in the preview code they brought back custom games...I guess I'll wait 'til release.
