note:this all happend while my m8 was staying over my house with his PS3 (i also have a ps3 but fortunetly brought mw2 and cod4 on xbox..)

i was not effected..but my freind was...he was legit player 5th prestege on mw2...so the hacks started to happen...and he joined a match with this invisible auto aim wall bang hacker...so he started to send hatefull messgages to him(since we both hate hackers and boosters and see no point in it and if you are a hacker U CAN GTFO AND KILL URSELF)....witch was not a verry good idear..so they kept sending hatefull messages back and forth like...F U and like ur mom stuff...so then the hacker reset him back to lv 1 (still 5th prestege tho) but he also reset all his challenges..titles...emblems...hacked his clan tag to say cu^% also hacked the little scrolling message when ur in the main multiplayer menu to say U GOT FKN OWNED CU#$

so we were both sooo devistated like WTF!!!!! HOW!??!?! OMG?!?! WTFBOOM...he was verry devastated...so we sent the hacker another message saying like u went to far..and like whats wrong with u...he replyd onyl once and said...i didnt go far enough...that was the last time we messaged him

after that my m8 never played mw2 again while he was at my house (still dont think hes played it since then)

P.S sorry for all the missspelled words unpunctuated sentaces ect ect ect

report the user responsible to sony, trust me they will ban him for that extreme overreaction, ps the hacks are not due to the recent activities but the fact that activision left big massive holes in their games for people to more or less do as they pleased, i thought this was common knowledge??

Really? Why would they suddenly appear so amssivly after the ps3 was hacked? Maybe now its just too easy for joe blow to do. You got any facts to back up your claim? Or do you just rely on common knowledge and don't expect to put real facts out

blackops was pretty much a hack fest since release people have only been able to get online with blackops recently thanks to thee 3.55 hack which happened about two weeks ago, yes the issues may have gotton worse but most of the hacking is due to the fact of the method they use for connecting players, i.e it is not dedicated therefore easy to hack

ps don't take it out on me its not my fault blackops was broken since day1

Modern Warfare 2 has been around for more than a year now, COD4 about 3 years. Are you telling me that the hacking in the game does not coincide with the security breach of PS3? I don't see how Black Ops has any involvement in this discussion? They're probably in the process of ironing out the bugs, the bugs/glitches do appear in new games, and it does take a bit for the community to find and exploit them. The care package glitch was found about 3-4 months after the release of MW2.

admittedly the new issues are indeed from the new hacks and the fact that activision are not usin dedicated servers and their game was pretty much left open, as many people was causing havoc on balckops even before that even, like you said using glitches to their advantages, just give sony some time to implement their banhammer system, and activision are trying to put all the blame on all the game issues just on the hack which is far from the truth

if i remember correctly the 360 had similar problems as well before but now they ban all hackers, im just fed up of people on the internet spinning this out of all proportion

We'll see how it pans out, if more and more of the PS3 titles get hacked in similar fashion to MW2 then you know the activition is not to blame for the lack of their dedicated servers. If anything, it would be easier to patrol the dedicated servers to prevent such hacks for exploiting for too long. I think that so far only the COD titles have been affected due to the fact that they are the most popular at the present. As I said it's a wait and see game, if hacks begin to appear on other games especially the first party titles then Activision's blame is rightly placed. I think the main difference is it's easier to patrol the dedicated servers, so the hackers get banned faster or there is a system in place that auto bans them like on PC, but the hack guard on PC Counter Strike servers was crap and took weeks, if ever to ban someone. So the admins were responsible for ensuring that the servers were playable.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I remember being in Counter-Strike where a cheater would kill most of the opposing team within a very short time after the round even began. I also remember a guy who had a cheat which would reset the server whenever somebody somehow managed to kill him.

Are Call of Duty's online progress files stored locally on the console's hard drive like they apparently are on the PC?

I kind of miss the old Counter-Strike days because you'd play in different servers and eventually you'd find one you'd like and it would be like a community unlike today with peer-to-peer and matchmaking. There weren't any global stats or unlocks, just whatever stats a specific server tracked while you played in it. If there was a cheater, you'd just stick it out till an admin banned the guy or just went to a different server for a while.

The hacked lobbys/aimbots/whatever have been there since launch. The hack has nothing to do with it

umm i was really dissapointed that ps3 didn't get those mw2 hacks the xbox were getting an while back on MW2.

Like the private match glitch that turns private match into an real game so you could have 18 play unlimated free for all on rust. and top it off with unlimited ammo and you get that video were the guy gets 100s of kills by unlimited shooting of Ac-130 big gun.

edit: also COD WAW on xbox had an heap of hacks ps3 didn't either like the ones were you could defuse the bomb from other side of map or instantly spawn on bomb.

has the PS3 with this hack reach that point yet?

Those are GLITCHES not hacks.  Or they are J-Tagged 360's which are very rare because they have to be old model 360's without any updates since 2007 or something.

The recent hacks on PS3 are because of the jailbreak and the master key leaks that let people do pretty much whatever they want on any model PS3 and any firmware.

Though I do not see the fun on hacking someone or even hackin in multi player because that is just spoiling yourself. Why bother gaming when you will just spoil everyone and yourself? I am just bitter because I see hackers everyday when I play  WoW on pvp battlegrounds... F'ng annoying.
