Probably not. As long as they keep it in the style of Prime and Hunters, it's not going to excel for sales. However, if they bring back the old style, ala the original or Super Metroid, it may do better.

Metroid: Other says hi

Other M changed up the Super Metroid formula WAY more than Prime did.  That was the problem. :/

I say give it SPD1/Team Ninja, let them use the gorgeous Other M engine, add analogue movement, get rid of first person missleing/pixel hunts, make it actually open world, on an actual planet (or two, or three), drop the awkward CG interludes (and the Federation entirely, no peoples plz) and you'll soon have the MOM h8ers groveling at Sakamoto's feet, begging for forgiveness.  Even better, make the whole thing a ground up Metroid 2 remake (Dread Mission?) and get some more horror in there.

Id say get Retro Studios to work on the next one since they made Prime awesome.

I'd prefer Retro start milking their superior product (DKCR) rather than go backwards to Prime.

ack!!

Well I'm not saying to make another Prime game, I'm talking about bring back quality to Metroid. After seeing their work with DKCR, I expect so much and respect them. They are easily one of my favorite Nintendo devs.

If they're not on DKCR2, I'd rather see Retro develop an original IP.  At worst, they should work on a different IP revival (F-Zero?). Metroid is literally like the last thing they should be doing (or likely want to do honestly).

You have that backwards, Nintendo should make Sak grovel at metriod fans feet. If Sakamoto wants to continue with other M Samus, and make a large number of metriod s cringe again then shelve it.

If they make it a side-scrolling metriod with out all the histrionics and bad writing then please do

it would sell a lot, as 3DS is aproaching a more hard-core direction than any previous Nintendo console, also, it will/would probably use wireless features

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Nintendo's not going to make Sakamoto govel, he just gave them Tomodachi Collection.  They'll probably let him do whatever the fuck he wants with Metroid, despite Other M flopping.... only he'll have to spend less doing it (buh-bye cutscenes!).

Sakamoto's a smart guy though, I doubt the negative response MOM got is something he won't take to heart.  Zero Mission went about "fixing" nearly all the "flaws" from Fusion, I'm pretty sure we'll see the same for his next Metroid versus Other M.

Well, at least the 3DS has a control stick... I despised Hunters' control scheme. Totally unplayable imo.

Sounds like a reasonable post
