Forums - Sony - How do you annoy Sony? sell an app to hack the ps3 on Android

Whilst I'm against this entirely, I think this is an overwhelming kick in the teeth.

I still can't get my head around the idea that this was never about piracy and it was all about linux, but within 2 days of these being released, we've had more hacks and crap with Linux and homebrew items nowhere in sight...yup, totally, it was never about the piracy...¬_¬

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Didn't geohot release a firmware that blocked piracy? Yeah, it was so about piracy ¬_¬

We all really know what the real reason for that firmware was. Just that little thing about blocking piracy, just a block to stop you from getting arrested.

Geohot should know better than anyone that that CFW would be modified and used in a way that wasn't originally intended...

yeah, but it was never really about piracy. Geohot likes cfw, and overflow likes linux. The hacks were not made with piracy in mind and Geohot even tried to prevent it with his firmware.

clearly not hard enough, since it only took what, 2 days for his modification to get broken into? I think it's safe to summise it was a half hearted defence and this guy wants a job creating defences for hardware? lulz. ¬_¬

Yes, it was a half hearted attempt, but it was an attempt nonetheless. You should give props where props are due instead of insinuating that he was being malicious

Whether or not they were made with piracy in mind, Geohot and Overflow had to know with 100% certainty that what they were doing would immediately lead to piracy becoming an issue.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Read the OP. My response was in direct response to Rock Lee's( I can't remember your name for peanuts >__<) statement. Yes, they probably knew it would lead to piracy. But piracy was not the attended results of the hack. It's like picking up smoking, yes, you know it might eventually lead to health problems, but were they the attended result, no
