PSMove has no doubt been outsold by large margins but notice that Kinect did not push 360 hardware as hard as it could have.According to VGChartz despite the massive support for Kinect 360 sales have not made any massive gains, they are barely outselling Wii and the Wii is very old technology. I suspect the majority of Kinect purchasers already own 360's and the ones buying Kinect bundles already intended to buy 360's thus giving it barely any boost at all. When 360 sales shoot higher then 300K a week or at least gain 50-70K on Wii weekly then I'll consider Kinect a success. If Kinect isn't growing the 360 user base then it is not a success like Wii was or DS or NES or PSOne. |
ummmm incorrect...
But as you continue this could simply be the US. If so still a giant effort

Okay maybe I'm exagerating a bit. But Pachter is wrong way more then he is right. I like to watch Pach Attack just to see when he's wrong again. Especially when it comes to Nintendo and Microsoft. Mostly Nintendo he's rarely right infact I can't remember a time when he made an accurate prediction about Nintendo.
The 8-million unit announcement was not only the US to my knowledge and thats what most of my post was about.

nah it wasnt just the US, it was WorldWide, shipments if I remember correctly. It is also the reason why MS is struggling to keep up.
I was saying the US 5-1 etc etc is still mighty impressive

Yah that is impressive. I find it just as impressive that Kinect didn't massacre the Wii. Nintendo and Microsoft are both doing great jobs. I wonder if Sony will continue to push the Move as highly as they initially planned or whether it will get abandoned in a year or two like the Balance Board.

This shows the difference between the companies (Nintendo and Microsoft) one company fully expects it to go bonkers, while the other is still cautious to what will happen. MS will learn and is learning. Next Gen will be awesome for MS imo.
Sony and Move could go either way. whether its early enough to call Kinect victor I dont know. What I do know though is that Move sold 3 controllers to one person today so they could play with their partner. We will never really know the numbers, and to be honest I dont think sony knows either.
This is beyond and advantage for Sony because the numbers cannot be directly compared. Sony is only letting it happen in the US and lets be honest, even if Kinect failed miserably US would still somehow outsell Move, at least initally. Microsoft has created a stronghold in the US. They couldnt do that with the original Xbox so fantastic job to them.
... i hope i didnt go off too much of a tangent haha

Still, I got it from KMart when it first came out so they gave a $35 in store PS3 game credit with it that got me RE5 : Gold Edition, so $100 for RE5 and SC Move Bundle worked out well, plus I have so far had a shit load of fun with Sports Champions. It really is a good title, just wish it has some Baseball like WiiSports. Good thing MLB The Show 11 is right around the corner. That shit is gonna be bad ass. Hitting was hard enough with the Dualshock, at least with the Move I will enjoy striking out and/or lining out more. LBP 2 also uses it. Some say it is better to have games use Move exclusively, but I prefer dual schemes, that way if I don't like the Move controls and/or the Dualshock controls I always have something else to fall back on to save the game from being a complete turd and waste of money. |
Chyeah, you know the game is a piece of turd when it's only saving grace is motion control lol! What appeals to me above Move is previous games support though, whereas I don't think Kinect had any of those titles, so all are new IPs pretty much. Yeah I still like the good old controller, it started with a controller I think it should end with a controller, and that is a banging deal lol! RE:5, SC Move bundle for $100!? You have it lush in the Americas, in UK we get taxed on everything like mules.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Oh boohoo, i live in Sweden and i buy most my games from UK since its cheaper than over here. Let that sink into your head and its not by a little, i saved €20 on Black Ops and Halo Reach.
Why are sony and microsoft making motion controls to try to catch up to the wii its not gonna happen and we all know it and also wii will also have a 10 year lifespan with the 360 and ps3 so this will be a very intresting generation to come still
