NowGamer’s reporting that Starbreeze is to show its new title behind closed doors at GDC in March.The news apparently comes from an EA rep.The Swedish studio was previously developing two new titles for EA via EA Partners, one on Jason Bourne and one codenamed Project Redlime, first mentioned at GDC 2008Last year, it was confirmed by the CEO of the Swedish developer Johan Kristiansson that it had canned one of those two projects, which was reported to be Bourne.Since last year, EA has registered a combined six trademark filings in regard to the Bullfrog-created Syndicate series, with CVG rumouring two-and-a-half years ago that Starbreeze was developing a reboot to the series.The only games the publisher has confirmed for GDC so far are Shadows of the Damned, Alice: Madness Returns, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, Crysis 2 and Battlefield Play4Free, which make up for an EA Partners event happening on March 1 in San Francisco.Battlefield 3 will also be officially unveiled at said event.

It's obviously The Darkness 2.

At least I seriously hope it is. The first one was freakin' amazing.

But I can't see why it wouldn't be. They did say a sequel is being developed.

This was exactly what struck my mind when I read the title.

Hope its the darkness, please please please, I would do anything for a sequel. It was probably the most underrated game of this generation.

But yeah, it is very underrated. I'd say it has one of the best stories in a game this gen.

Darkness 2 is beeing developed yes. Bad news: No not by Starbreeze so this isn´t it.

You are right, I remember reading something like this before.

That's a buzzkill.

I pray it isn't Syndicate reboot.

I prefer to remember playing it on amiga than watch it grave robbed and turned into another shitty FPS under EA guidance.

This gen is horrible...first X-COM, now Syndicate...

Not gonna get my hopes up for The Darkness 2 either if it's not by Starbreeze.
