My gave birth to 4 boys and 2 girls and loved us all.

i would make a snide comment about overpopulation, but that would be insensitive  :(

You are looking at the way things are now.

I was born in 1959.  My father worked hard and my parents didn't rely on  others or the government for help.

Interesting comment though

I was about to say, you were a child of the baby boom era, where 4.something children was the average, and households would have much more.

exactly , it was a different time

Thank you for sharing this.  I was at my mom's a couple of hours ago.  She's been there my whole life and while I definitely show her that I love her, I guess it's easy to take them for granted.  I'm gonna give her a little extra "umph" when I hug her next time.  You never know.

Personally, I couldn't even comprehend what life would be like but I guess that some day, we'll all find out.  For what it's worth, your mom sounds like she was a beautiful person.  You were blessed to have had her.

i feel privileged to have read this story, your mum sounds amazing. im sure she will continue to show that support to alot more people in another life. Rip

Very touching story. If she passed away with all of her family and friends around, caring for her, you can tell life rewarded her after all the hard moments... Even if she never had a reward in mind, because I'm sure she was a good person just because it was the right thing to do.

Unfortunately, nowadays people like your mom are very rare, thanks to the the culture giving everything to quickly... A lot of people want things without hard work.

Very sad story. This type of thing can hit hit ya in the heart like a ton of bricks. I never experienced this kind of feeling; but I think I soon might since my mother has cancer. This type of thing inspires people; to spend the last few moments with your mother or father, and thats what im trying to do with my mom. Sorry for your loss.

Its sounds like she was an amazing mother. It was a good read, thanks man :)

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated

Just came across this and boy was it touching. Seemed a bit rushed at the end, maybe you spent a long time writing this?

Regarding your mum, she truly sounds like a super mother and you have been blessed to have been mothered by her. I hope all the loving and positive attributes of your mother rubbed off on you and your siblings and you in turn will share the love with your neighbours, friends, family and relatives.

My mother is also very much like your mum was, very loving and selfless.

I hope you celebrate the life of your mum in your own special way.

Seems like a great mom, may she rest in peace :)
