I played the demo and it wasn't that good IMO

It was published by namco.

Just didn't have a publisher who know how to launch a new IP in the west - would have done alright with an EA, Activision, Sony etc backing it but Namco are useless. It's a shame as I think this could of actually done really well

Well there was this tv ad, they showed it here in the UK, not sure about anywhere else. and there was a demo, which i think wasnt that good, but still showed promise for the full game.

Tbh, even Sony dont market that well. probabily because their console has lost so much money, but still i think the tv as was really good, and showed off some of the games finer points.

I rented it and the experience was enjoyable. While I don't think that things should be tacked on a game just to satisfy some kind of quota, I felt that it did have a lack of replay value. Not only that, the experience really started to drag as time went on.

It wasn't a bad game, it wasn't worth anywhere near $60. Perhaps $30 at most.

I actully agree with the price comment, while i dont agree $60 (or equalivent) was worth it, i think probabily what its at now is good value for the product. i enjoyed the game, and i agree about the replay value, but the enjoyment i felt was partial to the camera (which i felt was a bit too close to Monkey) and the awful screen tearing of the Unreal Engine 3 on PS3.

What went wrong?

Gameplay went wrong - while i was thinking about buying it after demo i was sure i don't care any longer. Especially when i finished Castlevania demo and it comepletly removed enslaved from my to buy list.

I hated the framerate of the PS3 version. Didnt even finish it. I should get a PS3 controller adapter for Xbox.

What went wrong boring repetitive Gameplay, the story campaign was way to short and the story itself was not as good as other works based on the novel Journey to the West. also Ninja Theory are an ok developer but that heavenly sword sold well because there was not much else on PS3 at the time it like Enslaved was an average Game.

I thought the game was great but there wasn't much reason to buy it instead of renting it.

I beat the game in 2 days and it only took me like 7-8 hours.  There is no multiplayer and very little reason to replay through it.  Now days when people are spending $60 on a game they want their money's worth and a game you can blow through in 2 sittings certainly isn't worth that.

All in all a great game though I think and fantastic story and writing.  Also Andy Serkis's voice acting was INCREDIBLE.

Ninja Theory screwed themselves by ditching a pretty sweet storyline (Heavenly Sword) for going multi-platform.  The move had all the appearances of a simple cash grab, as a great many publishers have done thus far this gen.  Bottom line, their fan base told them to get bent.  Most PS3 sites were almost pleading with PS3 owners to buy the game, because it was actually really good.  Never played it myself though, had other games on my mind at the time, and NT making a multi-platform console exclusive, just didn't interest me.  I have a gaming  PC for multiplatforms, and a PS3 for exclusives.  All else are beneath me.

they main character was unappealing  and trip was forgettable. The fighting was lame and the game was too easy, they pretty much played too save on everything and the game came out as average instead of great.
