My friend just let me borrow his PSP (which is great, because I didn't want to buy one just for this game), so I want to finally get KH: BBS. What do you guys think about it, amongst those who've played it? I'm a Kingdom Hearts nut (see: years old arguments with Soriku about KH3) so I'll probably like it regardless, but still, what's your opinion? What improvements has Nomura made to the franchise? Any detriments? Any word would be nice. Thanks

It's a good game, I definitely enjoyed Terras playthrough. Aquas playthrough is useless fillin. and i'm working on Ventus now.

Kingdom Hearts BBS is, on par with KH1, the best KH game ever made. 

The battle system is the best one in the series so far. Not only does the command list add a whole new layer of strategy to the series, if you also take in consideration the form system as well, then you've got the most complex system ever in a KH game.

The story structure is also pretty nifty. By splitting the entire game's story into three, very different, parts, Nomura has created a wholesome story for each character, highlighting the true importance that each of the three Keyblade Masters have in the overall KH story arc. Also, the final chapter is a must if you want to comprehend some very important events of previous KH games.

In terms of mini-games, KH BBS also has the highest amount of them, which are also quite varied. With the Board mini-game, racing mini-game, volleyball like mini-game, ice cream rhythmic mini-game, there's enough to keep you entertained for long hours (and if you're going for full completition, then you'll want to finish every single one).

All in all, KH BBS is an amazing KH game and I throughly recommend it

You keep saying Aqua is useless, yet you do not understand that Aqua is actually the one link between the previous KH stories and KH BBS story

Ah well, you'll understand later when you reach the final episode. Plus, it will also do you good to play a bit of KH2 afterwards, to see how deep Aqua's impact is in the overall KH arc. 

And btw, Aqua's story is supposed to be the last one, story-wise, in KH BBS. She's the one who mends and actually "finishes" the grand majority of the worlds. She's the only true keyblade master, hence her bigger importance.

I too am a Kingdom Hearts megafan! I know all there is to know about Kingdom Hearts. Favorite series of all time.

I waited 4 years for Birth By Sleep. A game I wanted so badly due to the most awesome Secret Ending of KH II and FInal Mix Plus. I wanted to know why Terra's eyes changed at the end, who that old man was and who that dark figure (Vanitas) was and who those three keyblade wielders were fighting the old man and why there were fighting, etc there was just so much to talk about and everything was explained last year.

Birth By Sleep is one of the best games out there. Deep story with great characters and most importantly it has the best Gameplay of any KH game. I may not be controlling Sora but Terra, Ven and Aqua are all so unique in their gameplay and styles so it's great fun to play as them and you really have to play the game to truly understand the praise for BBS.

The ONLY complaint I had about BBS was Aqua's shithouse Voice Acting. Whoever that VA was for Aqua should never VA EVER AGAIN. I haven't heard such lousy and uninteresting VA EVER! Yes I wasn't expecting the high quality of the JP version of the BBS VA (omg it's just jizz that JP VA) but damn this english one was just shithouse. Period.

Anyway enjoy the game.

I loved the game. I hadn't played my PSP in years and rented this game as I knew once I was done with it PSP was going back where it lived for 2 years.

Gameplay was excellent nicely different from previous games. I played in the order of Ventus, Terra then Aqua. even though they say you are meant to do it with Terra first, the story in Terra's revealed secrets from Ventus' story so seeing them for the first time in his story I felt was far more exciting. Story good, music great. Although as I rented it from LoveFilm and I didn't want to get obsessed with it I only completed it until the end of the main stories. I didn't do the 100%.

All in all a great game and well worth picking my PSP up again.

Just a shame Roxas was in it.
