Forums - PC - Another Norwegian MMORPG underway, Darkfall.

Just found this in a Norwegian newspaper, totally out of the blue!

Looks promising despite being a completely unknown title from a ditto studio!

I hate World of Warcraft. Before they made billions with this game. All these MMORPG developers would probably have made a real single-player RPG.

True, I'm no huge fan of these MMO's myself. Blizzard have completely ignored all gamers outside of WoW for years now, I hope it'll end soon!

But Age of Conan and Darkfall actually look promising! A bit different with a more mature artistic style and thematics. I considered playing D&D Stormreach as a longtime fan of pen & paper RPG's, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyone else tried it?

 Will Darkfall cost Monthly?

Ehh. Looks like another grind-heavy, raid-heavy, tedium-heavy MMO.

Plus, the name "Dark Fall" has already been used by an awesome horror adventure game. =P

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I wouldn't blame World of Warcraft ... Since the late 90s we have seen the number of MMO games double each and every year.

The reason for this is simple, if 500,000 people pay $50 to buy your game and $10 per month to play your game for 20 months you make $25 Million in revenue from selling the game, and $100 Million in revenue from their desire to play online.

I haven't read anything about it yet, but for such a big production I'd think so. Or it could be like Guildwars; no monthly fee but you buy episodes with new lands and content every now and then.

I'll try to find out. Also; I've been assigned as a press official and translator on the biggest AoC fansite here in Norway so I might be getting my hands on some very exclusive info and feeds pretty soon if anyone's interested!

^cool

If you have problems ridding your addiction(s). I advise not trying any MMO.

Looks pretty cool. I'll try it out for sure if its free.
