Later that info was corrected. Those setting are under certain circunstances, so probable it'll have a DSi similar battery life.

What are the circumstances? 

Bright, 3D effects, volume and Wi Fi

Ok then- so 3-5 hours is the low end. They probably should give costumers the average battery life if they don't want to freak them out. 

Wifi eats battery dead.

DOA looks awesome, hope Samus is in.  The MGS thing was a total waste of time. :/

The only good info from the MGS 3DS thing

14:14 -- He promises they'll use the camera, gyro, touch sensor and other areas for the game.

14:13 -- He hints that there will be some in-game use for the camera -- taking pictures in the game and in the real world.

Also they're bringing MGS 3 to the 3DS because it's the first game in the timeline.
