Forums - Sony - Could PSP2 be 3D GlassLESS as its cheap?

The only problem with PSP2 being 3D is the touch screen. As Iwata said during the E3 keynote the 3D effect/touch combination on the same screen doesn't work. I would rather have a touch-sceen on PSP2 instead of the 3D effect.

IIRC rumors say that PSP2 will have touchpad on the back of device.

I think they could, but if they decide to one up the 3DS in graphical power, the product itself would not be cheap, since other parts bring total cost up.

if they present it like a phone with a contract then they can sell it for low cost

This would eliminate a huge segment of the youth population.

yeah it doesn't suit everybody

but there is one plus,as playstation gamers normally aren't that young.its not like Nintendo crowd is comind.

playstation crowd is 18-34 mostly atleast when a new product launches

even PS3,they targeted 20-34 years old at start

and SONY always takes a loss at the release of a new system,it happened with PS2,PSP,PS3

YEAH THAT COULD WORK one way

you can't touch 3D on the front side but you can touch it trough the touch pad

Also would hurt the sales of the playstation brand in the worldwide sense.

how?

I'd love it if Nintendo implemented a tracker which shows how many people turn off the 3D on the 3DS while they play.

I predict it will be well over 50% after a month. The non glasses 3D stuff on small screens I find very nauseating. You need perfectly still hands or here comes headache and eyesore...

Really? I never tried it out, do you never felt the same way with 3D glasses?

I did at first when I got in to 3D in early 2009. But your eyes get used to it...after a while you start turning depth higher and higher and all is well.

With the small glasess-less 3D screens that I've seen so far, the slightest tilt and the 3D image starts to disolve and disintegrate. So its not the actual 3D that is causing the eyesore, its the lack focus once you move your head/shake your hands slightly.

With the glasses, 3D follows you as you move so thats not an issue...

Would be interesting to see how they would market it against he 3ds xD

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

Interesting, thank you for explaining. I never had a problem viewing 3D with glasses (TV or at the movies) and I'm very curious to see 3D TV without glasses. I wonder how these new TVs announced by Toshiba and Sony will work, they are quite big in display area and said to be viewable at different angles without degradation. If they really work at different angles, maybe PSP2 could use that same tech.

yep but the annoying number of the copiezzzz threads in these forums cuz of it 0_0 cuz obviously No one else will do 3d glassless devices these days >_> will be insane
