TF1 News: There is often a numbers game or a game of poker liar in the video game ... Is it actual sales or implemented in stores?

GE: Regarding the 300,000 copies in French, it is indeed "out of boxes", ie units actually purchased in stores. For global figures, it is implemented because the numbers "out of boxes" are more difficult to give. But when we announce eight million put up in shops, is anyway well beyond our stated goal of five million sales worldwide.

Dont' forget that :

"we announce to date have sold 50 million Xbox 360 in the world, 2.2 million in France."

So nintendo and microsoft say for the one kinect=100.000 and the second kinect=300.000.

The gap is strange

It's sad we didn't have sw data per country here. Today we have 2,269,835 Kinects in EMEAA... 13% come from France (300k).

X360 seems overtracked in VGC.

That is one thing I don't understand about VGC. Why no country-specific SW breakdown? We have country-specific HW sales.

OT, It would seem that there's a case of pretty blatant channel-stuffing on MS's part if Nintendo's 100k number is to be believed.

I think it comes from the way things seem to be set up over there.  I am not an expert, just one who traveled over there a couple of years ago on vacation.  I remember it seeming like most of the countries were like different states, where it was very easy to go from one country to another(kind of like traveling to Canada here in the states).  I also remember many of the same chain stores being in multiple different countries, but i wasn't shopping for electronics.  Either way, it might very well be that on a daily or weekly basis, the sales aren't broke down for so many different products.  It's easy to track 7-10 consoles/handhelds versus 100's of software titles.
