Game Informer’s editor Andrew Reiner has just announced which new PS3/Xbox 360 sequel will get a reveal.

He confirmed that it would be the new Silent Hill game on his twitter account

“The game I was talking about this week is Silent Hill. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal the full name of it yet.”

He didn’t mention the full name however and we’ll have to wait just a bit more to know it.

Silent Hill was originally teased at E3 2010 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

It was teased with some early footage and the protagonist's name: Murphy Pendleton.

Believe it or not, my two least favorites in the series are SH3 & Homecoming (even though Homecoming plays a pivotal role in the story behind the town's history and my fave character is Heather from 3).

I expect SH8 to be an improvement, especially with them going back to the series pinnacle [SH2] for tips.

Yeah, I feel seem the way about 3. Weak story but great characters and it was still a damn good silent hill game. Homecoming... after watching a couple of let's plays, let's just say that I prefer not knowing it existed. While I love all the first four silent hill games, my favorite would definitly be 4 just because of its storyline and sheer amount of mind-fuckery in that game.
