LittleBigBattlefield, Play,Create,Share and Frag.

The REAL Playstation 3 SLIM release(Enhanced CPUS)[Built In Camera],  with intergrated Playstation Home 2.0(reguires CPU Enhancer for older ps3s) as stock interface. Features include, Sony 1st  party games intergrated into Home spaces, a Personal Sony Playstation Portable phone, for syncing games, and parties(Cross-game chat) ect. This way they can cross-promote their WHOLE brand(TVs,Phones, laptops, cameras, ectect)

The end. PS3 #1 this gen with 250million sold

Oh, wait... I think I might be thinking of PS4 launch lol

Imho PS3 isnt going anywhere for a long time. it will compete with the next Wii, and if Microsoft releases again soon, PS3 will compete with that. theres so many reasons why i think this will happen, but primarily because they've loss billions, Sega made a mistake once with the Dreamcast after the Saturn, i dont think Sony will make this mistake. i can see them doing about 100 mil before they have to release again, which i think will be within the next 4-5 years.

although i could be wrong, but i cant see them abandoning PS3 withing the next 3 years.

What it really needs is MORE COWBELL both the Wii and 360 lack Cowbells

I am no good at grammar =)

DAMN IT! This EP is such a good idea

Well The True PS3 Slim. they hinted @ the new one being not a slim version just rebranding. So it's a possible trump card this year.

that there's is a 199 sku on the market and 299 has never ever ever ever in the history of ever have been a mass market price.

Which is irrelevant if the $299 SKU outsells it 2:1 which also outsells the PS3.

and you know this how???

so your gonna completely ignore the fact that there is a MUCH cheaper price to the 360, and what me to believe that the mass market that 360 capitalized on over the holiday did the same, if so then don't respond to this post as we are gonna have to agree to disagree. Sorry

It doesn't matter if the 360 was available for $199 or not. If you dropped the Arcade as a SKU entirely the 360 still outsold the PS3 with the $299 SKUs alone. You can't say that the PS3 is too expensive when you have a console which feature wise has even less going for it which is outselling the PS3 at a like for like price.

OHHH EDIT: I see what the problem is now, you've completely misunderstood the thread, we're talking about WORLDWIDE sales and your clearly only talking about the US, the 360 hasn't out sold the ps3 any week for the eniter holdiday 2:1, and your saying it would do it without the 199 sku lol. was really scratching my head as to where you were getting your numbers from.

oh and I'd still like to see where you get the break down of what the 199 sku and the 299 sku has sold seperatly becasue until then out of your a** will not be acceptable as a reliable source, sorry again.

" we believe that Microsoft's average price for an Xbox 360 sold in November was around $290,"

Also the Kinect 360 is the same price as the PS3 in Europe.

The main difference has always and will always be demand. In Europe the PS3 has always been more desired at any price, Japan significantly so and in America the Xbox 360 is the same price effectively but significantly outsells the PS3. What I have been saying all along is that Sony are capable of raising demand without cutting the price substantially if at all because I believe that they have it in them.

Tease.

Ps3 has all it needs at the moment(only gaming console in history which has come back well into the competition and continuing the YOY increasing streak ), the money that kept bleeding out during its  late 2007 and 2008 sales is being recouped by Sony with its current sales pace. If anything is needed for PS3, it's just the price cut and a definitive Move title.  The 399$ tag to 299$(Kinect bundle) is way high even for holidays. Still it sold 100-150 K shy off 360 during main holiday week. The current price tag also seems responsible for it being turned down in America for the last couple of months.  PS2 B/C, if on the cards may be a tremendous booster but price-cut leaves no doubt. With games like LBP2, Killzone 3, Uncharted 3 and Infamous 2 slated for release in 2011, it shall bring on further consistent sales.

Sell to the mainstream

In America almost only "hardcore" gamers buy it whereas the Wii and 360 have hit mainstream appeal.  I pretty much never at work see moms and older aged people coming in and buying PS3's.  Its either 360's or Wii's for pretty much all of them.

The fact is that Sony has completely shot themselves in the foot this entire gen and while they have made an excellent core gaming machine they have failed to really catch the attention of more casual gamers in North America like the other systems have.

True story. Their advertising image of the ps3 as being 'hardcore' and a full home media entertainment system wasn't necessary, and didn't help them to push units. They just need a 'family friendly' sticker alongside some bloody good titles and hopefully sony's future might be saved.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Exactly the people Sony are currently advertising to already know that the PS3 offers an amazing Core experience.  They are all already familiar with Resistance, Infamous, Uncharted, and God of War.  And for some reason thats pretty much the only market they are currently targeting.

As much as it might piss off some of the hardcore forum fans of Sony they need to start advertising the hell out of some more mainstrean / casual games to get some more attention.   Though to be honest I think MS and Nintendo already have grabbed most of that market.  Like I said earlier this thread I think Sony missed their chance at placing higher than 3rd this generation.  Still a great and successful system though.

your opinion, which is why we are going to have to agree to disagree, the ps3 costing $200 more at lauch and always being 100$more expensive than the 360 has been and will always be the main difference. see I can do it to.

or you know that at 199 the ps3 will finally be at a mass market price and has the potention to never be out sold again. CONSPIRACY O_o!!lmao j/k

I think we can all agree, that the major thing that is holding the PS back is the interface, as the Xbox has a far superior one, and the PC for that matter too, with services like Steam, Xfire, Teamspeak, which all allowing you to party up before you get in any game. So, that is where I think Sony should focus on improving.

Something similar to the PS store, with TABS and icons, add in a couple of features Xbox doesn't have, Like PS only "Screenshots" that you upload to facebook (No hosting cost for Sony)
