Forums - General - Have you ever been swayed bye marketing?

I want to talk about the power of marketing. It interest me that people will bye into something. Like the human centepide %100 accurate line, did that cause you to see the movie. Are lady gaga's obivous marketing ploy, calling her fans little monster's. Does that make you feel special. Are any low budget scary movie such as that paranormal activity movie(correct me if I'm wrong) showing reaction shots of people watching the movie and being scared. You can't forget the classics such as Wendy's were's the beef are Mcdonald's you deserve a break today. I think genius marketing  does a good job of playing on your curiosity,if you don't care about something, then no amount of marketing can sway you to the product, but if your even aliitle curious about something, then it takes nothing more than a catchy tagline to reel you in. So have you ever been swayed bye some genius marketing/commercials.

I was running once, had been running for almost two hours on a very sunny day and there was this big sprite billboard. It had a picture of a bottle full of water drops and things like that and a caption along the lines of "we changed the bottles color and added water drops, only to make you thirstier". I bought one when I was done running, I had to.

I'm fully willing to admit that (to some extent) marketing has shaped many of the decisions I have made in my life, although its influence is far smaller today as it was when I was a teenager; which it had a much smaller influence than when I was a child. The truth about marketing is that when it is successful, and encourages people to buy poor quality products, it tends to reduce its effectiveness.

Sure do. Sometime it drives me away, though. Mostly due to BS PR.
