It's kind of relevant because his personal opinion/choice reflects that of more console gamers who are not necessarily replacing their Xbox with a PS3, but buying one despite any negative opinions they may have had about the platform from before.
All his reasons aside, it basically boils down to the games available and the exclusives being released in 2011. Big line up of exclusives which means a lot of missed titles for those who remain PS3-phobes. The Xbox, like the PC, just isn't an all-inclusive platform for the best games in development.
Personal attacks against Goldstein because his opinion doesn't match yours is pretty distasteful.
I agree with him. I think the PS3 is a much more superior console than the 360, that's my opinion and I'll stick by it. Unless Microsoft starts pulling their weight around with their exclusives, I don't think I'll be playing be purchasing or playing many 360 games in 2011. He justified his opinion, his already done more than what half the people in this thread have done, which is exactly making an attempt to prove a point.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

It only started to be a woefully useless article when he said more good exclusives are coming this year for PS3 than Xbox 360, thereby making great assumptions about unreleased titles.
Unfortunately, he made this error early on, thereby setting the tone for the rest of the text.

and what we have right now is what we had last year. This time last year people were saying Xbox360 had no games, at the end of it we had Kinect and its games, Halo, Fable and that is just exclusives that I can think of from the top of my head.

I have over 15,000, and they are starting to get boring for me. I think Microsoft needs to do something about that. I also agree that the PS3 is getting much more popular, and has far more exclusives for next year, suprisingly so considering the 360 used to have the lock on exclusives. Overall, both consoles are very close in gaming. I prefer my 360 over my PS3, but I still use both. I just want a great gaming experience. I'm surprised that there is still so much talk about which console is the best. |
Why is it far better?

"Yes, I know, there will be some unannounced Xbox exclusives on the horizon, but Microsoft has made several decisions over the past few years that suggest there’s far less interest in being the sole home for any third-party game. And with Microsoft axing so many of its studios (and letting others like Bungie go) the first-party offerings are slimming down. Since Kinect is going to continue to divide Microsoft’s attention (far more, it seems, than Sony’s Move), there will be fewer and fewer games I want to play that can only be played on Xbox 360."
I fail to see the lack of informations and reasoning behind his conclusion. Maybe Microsoft will do release as much good exclusives as Sony. But, with the informations we got at the moment, you can certainly not blame anyone to suggest they arent.
So since PS3 has a handful more exclusives (of course not counting Kinect when it doesn't suit your argument) then it makes perfect sense to also switch all your multiplat playtime to the PS3 too, because.....why?
I'll keep my PS3 for the few great exclusives I'll actually play and spend the rest of my time playing multiplats and exclusives on the Xbox since they're usually superior and most importantly because the Sony controller is a piece of crap that gives me handcramps.
i'm tired of all this bullshits.., everybody always find a way to justify themself by bring out their logic that doesn't make sense at all.., just admit it people, even if you have all consoles.., you are a fan if not fanboy, just admit that, because your heart must tend to one side, and you feel like have an obligation to defend whenever your "secretly beloved console" get attacked. So please do not bring "real gamer" topic here...
