Forums - Microsoft - I believe Microsoft Kinect will have motion controls in the near future.

More devices for Microsoft to sell to gouge money out of consumers? Probably was their plan all along.

m$ and kinect dont need something like the crappy move type of controller add-on for it , i have enjoyed kinect very much since i bought it for me and my family. cant stop playing it, and i believe m$ knows how to make its core games work without a need for a add-on ( move controller ) to get the depth and movement u speak of. also m$/kinect has proven sony so wrong on which tech it should have backed with sales speaking very loudly this holiday and i know will continue strong into 2011.

Not sure about this. A Controller for Kinect would be an optional add-on for an optional add-on. And Microsoft would in a way admit that the initial version of Kinect is a half-baked concept that doesn't really work for most games. And with Kinect already being considered an improved EyeToy, adding a controller would seem like completely copying the Playstation Move concept.

So I think Microsoft is not going to release a controller for Kinect. They will instead wait until the release of the next Xbox, which I believe will ship with a Kinect-like sensor and two separated controllers for both hands, just like Wii Remote and PS Move.

Well, in fairness, Nintendo kinda did this when they put out WM .. it was like saying  "our original controller wasnt as good as it could be, so here's the fix"

No one is saying Kinect isnt fun, Kinect isnt selling, just that something might be needed down the road to add depth to the Kinect experience.

If you doubt have Kinect and haven't played on it for 10 hours minimum then I wouldn't be stating opinion as fact personally.  Kinect will not be used for traditional core games in the way people are used to experiencing them.

I'm not worried, many people who have this opinion were the same that thought it wouldn't even sell to begin with, you'd think people might actually think outside the box by now.

the upgrade for a camera is a better camera, not a stick... you know this dont you. Go to an electronics store. If you want an upgrade for your camera they wont say go outside and hang under a tree. You will find an upgrade there

Kinect has 3d depth, it is the most depth of the motion controls so that doesnt work... they are already ahead in this depth fight.

I didnt mean depth in the literal sense.  I meant other ways to interact with game.

I know I just thought it was funny haha. Depth is spoken a lot in the case of motion controls in the two meanings.

None the less, the depth on kinect is awesome for that fact that you dont need anything extra. That is the whole point of the non controller thing.
