Xbox Pause!

I love my Kinect. I only have Adventures and Kinectimals, but I plan to get Joyride and Dance Central.

Don't get Joyride.  Or rather, think carefully about it and try it first if possible - I think there's a demo on Live.

I found it terrible because it just didn't seem to fit Kinect, it just felt weak next to every other driving title I've played.  Dance Central however is a great example of where Kinect excels.

There's 2 demos. 1 on Live and a different 1 on the Adventures disc, as well as demos for Dance Central and Your Shape. The Boy loves it(better than MK:Wii he said!) so I'll get it for him.

Yeowch. Well, to each his own, though I found it to have horrid controls.

To be fair, Just Dance seemed to be loved by many and has even worse controls, so I guess it's all opinion.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Still not 100% sure Kinect is for me but the replies in this thread are pretty motivating.

Congartulations and I hope you have fun with it!

Kinect Sports and Dance Central I think are the two games that most everyone agrees are the best of the bunch (I like em both!).  I will be getting Kinectimals for the boy, and while I aven't played it, I hear good things about it.

I have plenty of room in my house for Kinect but when mounted on the wall, I am only 6-7 feet in front of TV and I am in the "BEST" zone for two players. IN fact more often then not, Kinect asks me to move forward when playing.  Obviously, your experience here may vary.  The ONLY complaint I have with Kinect is that it occasionally loses my 4 year olds hands in the menus, which frustrates him (mostly on Kinect sports).  Other than that I've really enjoyed having it over the holidays.  Just having friends over playing it, sold 3 or 4 more that I know of.

Recipe for a good time:  Mix Beer Friends, stir in some Kinect dance central and then laugh your ass off with everyone else having a good time.

And you want to encourage these strange views?

J'King.  If the kid likes it then why not?  My own kid would play anything he thought was cool even if it was a bit rubbish - such as Transformers games or the like.

Although if he wants to shape up as a gamer he'll have to come around to realizing that MK:Wii is in fact way better than Joyride!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Kinect either, but after getting it as a christmas gift and playing it I found it very fun.  Contorls fit the games made for it perfectly and the voice commands are very impressive, I'm excited to see how MS expands this in the future..

One thing is for sure, millions of families were playing kinect this christmas weekend and much like the Wii affect when it released we can expect a similar result, it really is one of those things that people that don't normally like video games are drawn to.  My wife couldn't stop talking to the damn thing, she just kept telling it to do stuff over and over again.  If Kinect doesn't have a future as a gaming console maybe it will have a future as a therapist for women.  It can be programmed to give comforting repsonses and ask how her day was.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Microsoft is paying Sony fans to say this too!

I had a very different experience with Kinect over the holidays ...

I played Kinect at my brother's house, found it to be pretty laggy (not so bad for simple party games but would be an issue for anything else), required a ton of space (useless for someone living in an apartment or a modest house), and it kept dropping my neice and nephews out of the game even if they were playing in the optimal space (they marked it off with tape). Even though I own an XBox 360, Kinect is not something I am going to buy.

Had a very similar experience myself.

You must try Kinect Sports , its a ton of fun. Moreover,  Table tennis is the best approach of the game i have ever tried in a video game,  can even recognise many bevel servers and paddle technique.

Yeah the spins that you can put on the ball are crazy. I'm talking back-spin that makes the ball float so slowly, actually looks like it's in slow-mo. I had these dudes online spanking me with some ill stuff too. I have to say again that sports is really worth getting.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Congratulations!  It's more fun to enjoy the options out there (Xbox, Wii, PS3, PC) than be a stick in the mud.  It's not adultery to enjoy different console - it can even be fun!

I actually like 'The Biggest Loser' more than the 'Your Shape' for working out.  It doesn't have good menus, but the workout part is better, at least for me right now. For example, the yoga routines are explained better in BL, than the 'Ta Chi' lite in YS.

Enjoy!  I'm still waiting for a price drop on Kinectimals.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!
