Wow this op is the most close-minded, childish and missinformed thing I have read in a while. I am guessing the guy is american and thinks that the US of A = the world. I love wine especially red. I am half italian and in italy, it is in the culture to drink wine and simply enjoy the taste. There is nothing more awesome than having a beautifull bottle of wine with an italian salid or sea food dish. I also enjoy a nice ten year old wiskey with the boys when we get out of the lab. But hey, I am from an upper middle class family so perhaps it is just my upbringing where I was taught to enjoy alchohol and wine for what it really is.
Your post screamed insecurity and misinformation. I felt insulted reading your post. Get some class and go see the world bro.

I'm Latin actually. I might live in the U.S but I sure as don't think USA=world. You might of known that if you looked at my signature. There is not much wrong with moderate consumption, and since I am assuming your not that kind of a lunatic who goes drinking to get wasted. But to say you enjoy alchohol for what it really is, well learn what negatives it CAN cause.

Do you know from personal experiences what negative effects alcohol can have?
|
Plenty of observations!

Not good enough mate, unless you have tried it for yourself you cannot judge.
|
So observations of what has happened to others solely because of alcohol is not good enough to say the negative effects it has?
I'm not saying alcohol doesn't have positive effects. Drinking it in moderation is actually good for your health. Hell, my brother NEVER would have met his fiance if it wouldn't have been for her drinking on her 21st birthday. It CAN make occasions a little less tense and more laid back. But to say we are wrong to say it has negative effects just because we have never drank it but have seen with our own eyes what it can do is just wrong.
