Anthony Calandra and Matt Shor saw news reports about the theft and both men were moved to take action.
Calandra and Show repair damaged Xbox consoles at their business in Charlotte called ShoCal Repairs. They decided to donate their own personal consoles to the cancer clinic last week.
"First thing we thought of was ‘How many do we have and let's get it to them,'" said Shor.
"Donating our consoles means nothing to us, as far as losing them, but to them [pediatric patients] gaining them, it is everything," said Calandra.
According to the CMPD, the treatment center was closed when the theft occurred and none of the children came in contact with Hinton.
A few days after the theft happened, CMPD released two surveillance pictures of Hinton standing in the hallway inside the medical building.
Hinton is a convicted sex offender who was charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor back in 1999.Police arrested the man they said stole video game systems from a pediatric cancer clinic in Charlotte earlier this month.
On Friday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said warrants have been issued against Charles Everett Hinton for burglary, larceny after burglary, and damage to property in connection with the case.
The CMPD says Hinton was captured on surveillance videotape at the Levine Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center in Charlotte on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Police say Hinton stole gaming systems that were used by pediatric cancer patients. The facility is located on the Carolinas Medical Center campus near downtown Charlotte.
